Speaker: Dr. Sepali Kottegoda
Dr. Chandrika Sepali Kottegoda is a vice chairperson of Asia Pacific Women’s Watch (APWW). She received her Doctoral degrees (1991) in development studies from University of Sussex. Her research publications include ‘Reproductive Health Concerns in Six Conflict-Affected Areas in Sri Lanka.’ (with K. Samuel and S. Emmanuel) (2008), ‘Bringing Home the Money: Migration and Poverty in Gender Politics in Sri Lanka’ (2006), ‘Negotiating Household Politics: Women’s Strategies in Urban Sri Lanka (2004), Her recent paper is ‘Interrogating Gender in and of Women’s Empowerment: Reflections from Sri Lanka’, presenting at the UNESCO Women’s Studies and Gender Research Network Conference, February 2009, Bangkok.
